Viper darts deliver consistent, smooth and quick performance. Their unique Tungsten Carbide formula yields an excellent combination of balance, weight consistency and extreme wear resistance. The Viper flights are lightweight, durable and won't shatter on contact like wooden darts. Viper darts are designed for professional players and beginners, who want to improve their game.
To play darts, use a dartboard, which is divided into colored rings called scoring areas. Players take turns throwing three darts at a time, attempting to score points by hitting one of the colored scoring areas. The dartboard is designed so that corresponding numbers and colors alternate across its face.
The dartboard has the numbers 1 through 15, plus a bullseye (or center) ring. In professional darts, the outermost segment is segment score zero. The inner segments are numbers 1 through 20 and the innermost ring is segment score 100. In most cases, each player takes three shots at the board per turn. When your turn begins, you may throw three different darts at once; but don’t hit any of them into the same number or segment.
The idea of playing darts is to score as many points as possible by hitting the dartboard. Players compete in groups of two, three or four to see who will hit the highest score using a set of darts with fixed distances between points on the board. It's a game that takes some skill and patience but also luck, so you'll want to practice your aim before heading out to play competitively!
Throw darts by gripping the dart between your thumb and index finger. Position your elbow to create a 90-degree angle between the forearm and upper arm. Extend your hand forward and back from the desired target, grasping the dart firmly with your fingers. Snap the wrist at just past 90 degrees as you release the dart.
You should stand 7' 9-1/4" away from the board for steel tip darts and 8' for soft tip darts.
The regulated dartboard height has the bull’s eye at 5’8” from the floor for both soft tip and steel tip darts.
